Polygon has joined hands with Immutable to build a new Ethereum gaming network that utilizes zkEVM technology. This network aims to make gaming on the Ethereum blockchain faster, cheaper and more scalable than ever before. By implementing zkEVM, the network minimizes the computation required for each transaction, resulting in lightning-fast and cost-effective transactions for gamers. Additionally, the platform offers a high degree of security and enables developers to create a wide range of decentralized gaming applications. With this partnership, both Polygon and Immutable are set to revolutionize the gaming industry by offering a seamless, user-friendly gaming experience that is powered by the Ethereum blockchain.
Polygon and Immutable have joined forces in a strategic alliance to create Immutable zkEVM, a new Ethereum scaling network designed specifically for blockchain-based games. The partnership brings together the two Ethereum scaling networks and pairs the soon-to-launch Polygon zkEVM tech with the Immutable platform. Although competing scaling networks, both Polygon and Immutable X sought to scale Ethereum rather than try to compete against it, which made it a natural alignment for the collaboration. Immutable zkEVM is expected to start rolling out towards the end of Q2 2023, and developers can begin building on software development kits (SDKs) today to explore the tech. The network will use Immutable’s IMX token for gas fees and transaction sequencing. The partnership aims to tap into the gaming infrastructure that Immutable has built and provide a potentially appealing place for developers to take root as the Web3 gaming market continues to expand.
